Life under occupation: is there a path to equality and peace?
Much has changed in the international and political sphere since summer 2019, when as an MEP, I embarked on my third trip to Israel and Palestine. Israel’s new coalition Government’s plan to annex significant parts of the occupied Palestinian West Bank after 1 July 2020.
This has been condemned by The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) as violating a cornerstone principle of international law and must be meaningfully opposed by the international community. I offer this report as a contribution to the urgent debate that is needed about what this meaningful opposition can be.
